A pioneer of skywriting as an art genre in the early 1980s, Christopher Priore was a leader amongst his transformative generation of young artists in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Since 1990 his art studio has been based in Manhattan. Priore brings a fresh outlook and renewed vigor to his work as an artist and educator having recently completed in 2010 his Master of Fine Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design’s Painting Department. (BFA, School of Art, Carnegie Mellon University, 1981) Priore’s artistic trajectory is one of sustained explorations into perception, materiality, beauty, light, gravity, site, narrative, and audience involvement. His art has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States, as well as in Germany, Russia, Japan, France and Italy, with continuous discussion in all forms of the media including The New York Times, Art in America, Sculpture, ELLE and YouTube.
